<p>As they say <strong><em>well begun is half done</em></strong>, a good architectural design is not that a tough job as much is convincing the client with the design. Half the job is done when the client is pleased with the conceptual design. This can only be achieved through a good presentation. Giving presentations, in general, is quite a daunting task, from the technical aspect of covering all the points to unwillingly laughing at the lame joke of the client, hosting a presentation is not a run of the mill. Architecture presentations are no exceptions but with the exception that an architect has to walk an extra mile to convince his/her client. A summarized skill set that is required to make an architectural presentation is given as follows</p>
<h2><strong>CREATIVITY</strong></h2>
<p>Legend has it that every architecture student is always tutored that even a straight line drawn by him should speak volumes of his creativity and a layman watching it should know that it is made by an architect. How can presentation be any different? Whether it’s showing the client as to how the design is conceived or exposing architecture students through a seminar an architect should do it in his own style or be more specific a little <em>creative </em>style.</p>

<h2><strong>SPEAKING SKILLS</strong></h2>
<p>One of the most important skills for any presentation, in general, is speaking skills. A good command of the language, a stint of confidence and the courtesy to handle the conversations can help cover up the loopholes and shift the focus on what the architect has to his advantage. A third person only listens when the speaker holds his attention with the power of his speech. However the speaking skills are not just limited to having an extraordinary vocabulary, it is also about engaging the person with the shades of talking that is attractive to the client.</p>

<h2><strong>COLLABORATION</strong></h2>
<p>Good architecture is never a one man job but the outcome of people working cohesively including the architects, the client and the contractor along with the consultants. The architecture presentations are never one dimensional and have no room for conjectures. It is a collaborative effort being cross-examined by different individuals and perspectives and the architect must possess the quality to host this collaboration.</p>

<h2><strong>ADAPTABILITY</strong></h2>
<p>In the words of 2017 Pritzker Laureates Ramón Vilalta, architects must be ready for <em>uncertainty.</em> In the fast changing dimensions of the world, nothing is quite certain. An architecture presentation is in a court of law where the architect doesn’t know what aspect is he or she going be questioned and made to think over critically. Whether it’s the question thrown by the juror at the college or the doubts of the client, adapting to the situation and thinking preparing to face the challenge is a bonus for an architect.</p>

<h2><strong>TIME MANAGEMENT</strong></h2>
<p>Architecture presentations are to be simple, pleasing and to the point. To achieve this we need to have a good sense of time management. Keeping the stuff of primary importance at the suitable stage of discussion is very important. Planning out the agenda of the presentation beforehand can help make an effective and fruitful presentation that will cater to all the aspects of a good architectural presentation.</p>
