Appearance for an Architect's Interview
This is so important whether your interview is over Skype or in person, it does not excuse you from being presentable. Formals would be the safest option and a well-groomed face to complete it. Appearance not only refers to your physical appearance. But the way you carry yourself. Have a neat folder with your documents and a hard copy of your portfolio. That's all you need to carry, you don't want to struggle to hold too many things and appear clumsy.

Address them in the language you’re most comfortable with. Although, English would be a safer option. The point is, you don’t need a language holding you back while you’re explaining yourself. Be very professional with your choice of words and actions. Avoid words like ‘cool’ ‘yeah’ etc. they could be your boss after this.

This involves everything from your punctuality to the handshake post your interview. Don't ever turn up later than the time slot allotted, this is a big turn off. Greet all employees with a smile and politely ask them to guide you on the procedure. Patience is a virtue here. Do your research on the office. Have a look at their projects and their design approach. While you’re researching, pick a favorite in their projects. Use that as a reference to seem well read and interested. They’re bound to also ask you if you’ve applied anywhere else, and how many. Be safe and stick to a small number. No one wants to hire a candidate that many offices have found unfit.
